Ingredients:

-1/2 cup softened butter
-1 cup sugar
-2 eggs
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-1/8 teaspoon salt
-2 squares (2 ounces) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
-1 cup all-purpose flour
-1/3 cup chopped walnuts
-confectioners’ sugar

Chocolate Walnut Cookies

1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs, vanilla and salt, beating until light and fluffy
2. Beat in chocolate until well blended
3. Stir in flour and chopped walnuts
4. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on well-greased baking sheet
5. Bake in preheated 350° oven 10 minutes, or until edges are crisp
6. Cool for 1 minute; remove to rack to cool completely
7. Sift confectioners’ sugar over tops
8. Makes about 48 cookies
