Ingredients:

Cherry Muffins

-3/4 stick unsalted butter
-1 cup whole milk
-2 large eggs
-1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
-1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-1/3 cup packed brown sugar
-1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1 1/4 cup dried (or canned) sour cherries
-melted chocolate for garnish
-cherries for garnish

Muffins

1. Preheat oven to 400°F
2. Heat butter and milk in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes
3. Remove from heat and cool 15 minutes
4. Add eggs and whisk until smooth
5. Whisk together flour, cocoa, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl until combined well
6. Add milk mixture and stir until just combined
7. Stir cherries
8. Divide among 12 greased muffin cups
9. Bake until a tester comes out clean, 14 to 18 minutes
10. Cool in pan on a rack 5 to 10 minutes
11. Garnish with melted chocolate and cherry on top
